2022 Rodrigo Mendez & Alberto Orte "Muti" Albarino, Rias Baixas, Spain

The 2022 "Muti" Albariño is a testament to the rich winemaking traditions of Rías Baixas. It offers a complex, highly perfumed bouquet that evokes orange zest, white flowers, candied ginger, and dusty minerals, with a suggestion of fresh fig in the background. On the palate, it is juicy and fresh, with soft tannins and balanced acidity, leading to a clean, fruit-forward finish.

About the Wine

Crafted from 100% Albariño, "Muti" is sourced from a single site known as Eira da Juapa in the village of Meis, approximately 15 minutes from the Atlantic coast. The vineyard boasts vines over 120 years old, many of which are own-rooted and pergola-trained in decomposed, sandy granite soils. These conditions impart a saline intensity to the wine, reflecting its proximity to the sea and the age of the vines. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged on its lees to enhance texture and complexity. This Albariño is best enjoyed chilled and pairs excellently with seafood dishes, light salads, and fresh cheeses.
