2023 Bearboat Pinot Noir, Oregon, USA
Notes of raspberry, cherry and baking spice. Medium-bodied with bright acidity, soft tannins and silky finish.
ABOUT THIS WINE
A blend of Pommard and Dijon clones of Pinot Noir from Burgundy were sourced from the Willamette and Umpqua Valleys for this wine. The grapes were fermented in opentop containers in keeping with Burgundian traditions. 25% underwent whole-cluster fermentation to provide a little more structure and impart some mellow, spicy notes. The juice was then aged 10 months in 25% new French oak barrels. Notes of raspberry, cherry, and warm baking spices shine through, thanks to hand-harvesting, whole-cluster fermentation, and aging in French oak.
