2023 Comando G “Rozas”, Sierra de Gredos, Spain
A vibrant and elegant high‑altitude Garnacha with expressive red fruit and thrilling mineral drive. Aromas of wild strawberry, cranberry, and rose petal lead into a bright, juicy palate where lively acidity frames flavors of pomegranate, blood orange, and savory herb. Fine, chalky tannins and a saline‑tinged finish give length and precision, making this an energetic, terroir‑forward expression of Gredos Garnacha.

ABOUT THIS WINE
The 2023 Comando G “Rozas” comes from a distinct single vineyard in Sierra de Gredos, where old Garnacha vines thrive at cool, elevated sites on predominantly granite and sandy soils. This combination yields fruit with fresh acidity, pure red fruit character, and a pronounced mineral backbone.
On the nose, expect lively aromatics: bright wild strawberry, raspberry leaf, rose petal, and a touch of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is medium‑bodied and juicy, with crisp acidity lifting flavors of cranberry, pomegranate, citrus zest, and subtle earth notes. The wine’s finely grained tannins and mineral tension give it structure and grace, while a saline finish keeps the experience long and refreshing.
Fermentation with native yeasts and aging in large neutral vessels preserve the purity of fruit and site expression. Rozas is approachable young but offers nuance and complexity with short to medium aging. It pairs wonderfully with grilled vegetables, tomato‑based dishes, roast chicken, charcuterie, and soft cheeses.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Comando G is a collaborative project founded by vignerons Daniel Landi and Fernando García in Sierra de Gredos, dedicated to making Garnacha wines that authentically reflect place, old‑vine heritage, and minimal intervention philosophy.
Their vineyards sit at high altitudes on varied rocky soils, where low yields, dry farming, and careful canopy management promote balanced ripeness, bright acidity, and concentrated flavors. In the cellar, Comando G favors native fermentations, gentle handling, and aging in large oak or concrete to let terroir, fruit purity, and texture shine without overt oak influence.
The project has become one of the most respected names for terroir‑driven Garnacha in Spain, known for wines that combine freshness, energy, and a compelling sense of place. Rozas exemplifies this philosophy with radiant fruit, mineral clarity, and elegant structure.
