ABOUT THIS WINE

Situated high on the slope just above the village, Les Folatières is one of the most renowned Premier Crus in Puligny-Montrachet. Its combination of altitude, poor limestone soils, and excellent drainage yields wines of both richness and finesse. In 2023, a vintage marked by early ripening and good balance, the site’s natural tension and vibrancy shine through.

The Chardonnay grapes were hand-harvested and gently pressed, with fermentation carried out in French oak barrels using native yeasts. Aging took place over 12 to 14 months in barrel (around 20–25% new oak), followed by time in tank to integrate the wine before bottling. The vinification is minimalist, allowing the terroir’s voice to remain front and center.

On the palate, the wine balances concentration and precision. Layers of citrus zest, white peach, and toasted hazelnut meet a vibrant backbone of acidity and wet-stone minerality. Texturally fine and tightly wound in its youth, it will broaden and deepen with time. Pair it with lobster, turbot, or dishes featuring rich sauces and subtle herbal notes.
