2023 Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Rosé, Loire Valley, France

An elegant balance of red fruit and florals on the nose. The palate is vibrantly alive with a red currant core, some crunchy cherry/cranberry hints and a pleasant snap of herbaciousness. This wine is clean and precise.

ABOUT THIS WINE

In the town of Saumur, Romain Guiberteau farms top plots of cabernet franc to make some of the region’s best rosé wine. Like his mentor, Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard, Romain farms organically, producing deeply savory yet elegant wines.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Domaine Guiberteau is a family estate located in the heart of the Loire, 12 kilometres south of Saumur. It consists of 17 hectares of vines that are between 5 and 80 years old and where only the Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc varieties are grown.

In 2003, Romain Guiberteau, who belongs to the fourth generation of the family and is the current manager of Domaine, decided to implement organic agriculture for the cultivation of his vineyards, and in the plots the use of pesticides and herbicides is prohibited.

Domaine Guiberteau is in constant growth and is considered one of the best wineries in the denomination, thanks to the quality of the wines that it produces.
