ABOUT THE WINE

This Bourgogne Aligoté comes from carefully selected estate plots in Burgundy, including sites near Volnay and in the Mâconnais, where chalk and clay-limestone soils provide the ideal environment for Aligoté to shine. The 2023 vintage was characterized by a steady growing season, yielding wines of crisp acidity and aromatic precision—perfect for the transparent style d’Angerville is known for.

The wine is vinified entirely in stainless steel to preserve varietal purity and freshness. Native yeasts initiate fermentation, and malolactic fermentation is allowed to add balance and roundness without softening the wine’s vibrant core. No oak is used, allowing Aligoté’s crisp citrus and mineral character to take center stage.

In magnum, the wine shows tension and clarity—notes of lemon zest, pear skin, and saline chalk emerge over a sleek, energetic palate. It finishes with mouthwatering acidity and subtle herbal nuance. Serve with seafood towers, goat cheese, or delicate vegetable dishes. The magnum format makes it ideal for cellaring or festive, large-format pours.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Domaine Marquis d’Angerville is one of Burgundy’s great names, revered for its benchmark Volnays and its steadfast dedication to quality across every bottling. Based in Volnay and family-owned since the early 19th century, the domaine is now led by Guillaume d’Angerville, who has expanded the estate’s reach while preserving its commitment to terroir and tradition.

The domaine has been certified biodynamic since 2006, with a philosophy centered on soil vitality, ecosystem balance, and minimal intervention. Every wine—from Grand Cru to Bourgogne Aligoté—is approached with the same rigorous attention to detail and purity of expression.

The 2023 Bourgogne Aligoté in magnum reflects d’Angerville’s belief that no wine is “simple” when grown and made with care. It is a precise, textural white that elevates Aligoté to the level of fine wine, offering clarity, character, and enduring freshness—especially in large format.
