2023 Gundlach Bundschu Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma County, California

On the nose, vibrant aromas of honeysuckle and white nectarine frame delicate floral and citrus notes. The palate sparkles with brisk acidity and a marine-like minerality—think ocean spray—balanced by creamy richness from lees contact. Flavors of Australian lime, grapefruit, Meyer lemon, starfruit, and subtle orange blossom linger on a bright, refreshing finish.

ABOUT THIS WINE

The 2023 Gundlach Bundschu Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma County offers a refined fusion of New- and Old-World styles, artfully blending 88 % Sauvignon Blanc with 12 % Semillon. This vintage was marked by a notably cool, slow-growing season with well above-average rainfall, allowing the grapes to develop layered complexity and elegant balance. The winery fermented the must across four vessel types—stainless steel, cement, neutral oak, and even cigar barrels—then aged the wine on lees with batonage to enrich texture without sacrificing freshness.
