2023 Winzerin Birgit Wiederstein "Rozae" Rosé, Niederösterreich, Austria
A punchy & juicy wine that has great strawberry aromas opens to a tart, crisp palate with notes of cranberry, raspberry & lemon. Definitely dry, but a bit more body and acidity than your standard rosé.
ABOUT THIS WINE
For this Rozae, grape juice from Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Merlot and Pinot Noir was gently pressed. Each variety is sometimes more dominant and sometimes only slightly noticeable over the course of the year. So it is always interesting to see who plays the leading role in this composition.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
The “Weiberwirtschaft” of the Wiederstein women in Göttlesbrunn, who are producing wines that are so delightfully “different”. Wines that are worth getting to know. They are feminine and elegant, not superficial, very subtle and with a lot of depth. These wines seem to provide proof that there is more to "terroir" than just the right vines on great soil in the right climate and it's all about the unique personality of the winemaker. As in Birgit's case, her wines are delicate, sensitive and tender, but always self-confident; sparkling and dancing on the palate, always full of harmony and balance. You can see the delicate hand with which the grapes are brought to ripeness, the passion with which the almost six hectares are cultivated, the gentle ambition that motivates us to get even more quality and finesse out of the vineyards year after year. The resulting wines from Birgit and the distillates from Grete are a joy to drink and are as much fun as only conversation with uncompromisingly passionate people can offer.
