2024 Âmevive Wine Grenache Blanc, Ballard Canyon, Santa Barbara, California, USA

Textural, mineral, and quietly powerful, the 2024 Grenache Blanc from Âmevive is a stunning study in restraint and nuance. Aromas of crushed citrus peel, wet stone, white flowers, and fennel usher in a broad yet balanced palate. With a silken texture, savory edges, and refreshing acidity, it finishes with a whisper of saline and citrus pith—compelling and contemplative from start to finish.

ABOUT THE WINE

Sourced from the Ibarra-Young Vineyard in the heart of Ballard Canyon, the 2024 Âmevive Grenache Blanc is crafted from organically and regeneratively farmed vines rooted in sandy loam and limestone-rich soils. Hand-harvested and whole-cluster pressed, the juice is fermented with native yeasts and aged in a mix of neutral French oak and sandstone amphora. Lees aging without stirring lends subtle texture while preserving clarity and energy. The wine offers layers of Meyer lemon, green pear, almond skin, and crushed rocks, with a finely tuned structure and mineral length. Fermented dry and bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur, it’s ideal with dishes like seared scallops, roast chicken with herbs, or grilled fennel and citrus.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Âmevive, founded by Alice Anderson, is rooted in the principles of regenerative agriculture, low-intervention winemaking, and soulful stewardship of land. Based at the historic Ibarra-Young Vineyard, Alice works with dry-farmed, own-rooted vines using no-till methods, rotational grazing, and polyculture to support ecological health. In the cellar, she follows a natural, hands-off approach—native yeasts, no additives, and minimal sulfur—to craft wines that are vibrant, expressive, and deeply site-specific. Her Grenache Blanc exemplifies Âmevive’s ethos: a wine of purity, balance, and quiet complexity that speaks to both variety and place.
