2024 Weingut Keller Scheurebe, Rheinhessen, Germany
A rare and radiant expression of Scheurebe, the 2024 release from Weingut Keller stands out for its purity and intensity. Sourced from a tiny, old-vine plot within the famed Morstein vineyard, this wine is an aromatic marvel—bursting with notes of blackcurrant, elderflower, and grapefruit. On the palate, it is vibrant and crystalline, with a light yet persistent texture, a racy backbone of citrusy acidity, and a long, mineral-charged finish.
ABOUT THIS WINE
This Scheurebe is a dry, elegant wine that balances exotic aromatics with refreshing structure. The bouquet opens with passion fruit, ripe peach, and white flowers, leading into a palate alive with stone fruit, citrus zest, and a subtle herbal lift. The wine's body is lithe and transparent, energized by zippy acidity and framed by a chalky mineral core.
Made from 55-year-old vines planted in limestone soils, the grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts and the wine is aged in stainless steel, preserving its fresh, aromatic profile and pure expression of site.
Perfect as an aperitif or alongside vibrant dishes like Thai green curry, marinated seafood, or goat cheese with tropical fruit accents.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Weingut Keller, based in Flörsheim-Dalsheim in Rheinhessen, is one of Germany’s most iconic and respected estates. With a winemaking lineage dating back to 1789, the Keller family has long been devoted to producing terroir-expressive wines of great finesse and longevity.
Today, Klaus-Peter Keller leads the estate with a precise, low-intervention approach rooted in organic practices and meticulous vineyard work. The winery is renowned for its legendary Rieslings, but also for crafting remarkable wines from lesser-known varieties like Scheurebe.
Keller’s philosophy emphasizes the transparent expression of each vineyard's character, and this Scheurebe exemplifies that ethos—beautifully detailed, site-driven, and unmistakably Keller.
