ABOUT THIS WINE
Crafted from 100% Merlot, Redigaffi is widely recognized as one of Italy’s greatest expressions of the varietal, often compared to the finest Pomerols. The 2018 vintage benefits from the ideal climate of Suvereto, Tuscany, where warm Mediterranean breezes and mineral-rich soils contribute to the wine’s complexity and structure. The vineyards, planted on a mix of clay, silt, and iron-rich gravel, produce low-yielding grapes of exceptional concentration.
The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, followed by fermentation in small oak vats. After malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, the wine matures for 18-20 months in 100% new French oak, adding depth and finesse. The result is a wine of seamless balance, richness, and purity, capable of evolving beautifully over the next 15-20 years.
