NV Lancelot-Pienne "Table Ronde" Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, Champagne, France

Elegant, vibrant, and terroir-driven, the NV Table Ronde Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is a finely sculpted Champagne that balances chalky precision with layered complexity. Delicate aromas of lemon curd, white flowers, crushed almond, and oyster shell unfold over a palate that is racy and textural, with fine mousse, incisive acidity, and a saline, mineral finish that lingers with tension and finesse.

ABOUT THIS WINE

The Table Ronde is a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grown in the prized chalk soils of Cramant, a Grand Cru village in the Côte des Blancs. Lancelot-Pienne—a grower-producer with deep family roots in the region—produces this cuvée as an homage to purity, heritage, and the elegance of Chardonnay in its most refined Champagne form.

This cuvée is composed of a blend of reserve wines (solera-style perpetual reserve begun in 2003), offering both freshness and depth. The wine is vinified partially in stainless steel and partially in neutral oak to build mid-palate texture without masking its mineral edge. It is aged for extended time on the lees in bottle (typically 5–6 years) before disgorgement and finished with a low dosage (Extra Brut, around 2–3 g/L), preserving its linear profile and site expression.

The result is a Champagne of detail and quiet intensity. Expect citrus zest, chalk dust, toasted brioche, and subtle hazelnut, all riding on a palate of fine bubbles and crystalline structure. The long lees aging lends subtle autolytic depth, while the low dosage ensures clarity and length.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with delicate seafood—oysters, scallop crudo, or sole meunière. It will also reward cellaring for several more years.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Lancelot-Pienne is a family-run grower Champagne house located in Cramant, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Now led by Gilles Lancelot, the estate farms just under 10 hectares of Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, primarily planted to Chardonnay. The domaine’s philosophy emphasizes sustainable viticulture, minimal intervention, and extended lees aging to express the full nuance of its chalk-rich terroirs.

As a récoltant-manipulant (grower-producer), Lancelot-Pienne controls every step of production—from vineyard to bottling—ensuring authenticity and terroir transparency. In recent years, the house has gained growing international recognition for its tightly focused, mineral-driven Champagnes that offer both depth and tension.

The Table Ronde represents the pinnacle of the house’s style: a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs rooted in precision, time, and tradition—made not for volume, but for those seeking purity and character in every glass.
