ABOUT THIS WINE

The “Armance B.” cuvée, named after Brochet’s grandmother, is Ampelidae’s flagship sparkling wine made in the traditional (méthode traditionnelle) style with secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees aging of around 18 months. This NV Brut is composed from 100% Chardonnay grown on Ampelidae’s organic estates in the Loire, under the broader IGP Val-de-Loire designation.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Ampelidae, founded by Frédéric Brochet in the Haut‑Poitou region of the Loire Valley, is an organic estate renowned for its thoughtful terroir-driven approach. Brochet—an oenologist and university wine researcher—works biodynamically long before conversions, using regenerative organic methods (certified AB/ECOCERT) to farm low-yield, old-vine plots on clay, limestone, and flint‑rich soils like chalk and tuffeau.

Ampelidae’s ethos centers on innovative yet minimal‑intervention winemaking: using stainless steel or concrete for fermentation, never over‑sulfuring, and embracing aging in eggs or amphorae for other cuvées. Though Armance is fermented and aged in stainless and bottle only, it reflects this broader philosophy of purity, precision, and terroir expression.
