NV Pol Roger Brut Réserve, Champagne, France 6.0L Methuselah
Pol Roger Brut Réserve in Methuselah format is a celebratory and commanding expression of one of Champagne’s most classically styled non-vintage cuvées. Brimming with notes of golden apple, pear, honeysuckle, brioche, and subtle almond, this wine harmonizes freshness with elegance. The palate is creamy and fine-bubbled, with vibrant acidity and a polished finish that lingers on chalk and citrus zest—a timeless Champagne amplified in grandeur and complexity by its large-format aging.
ABOUT THIS WINE
The Brut Réserve, often referred to as the “White Foil,” is a house standard-bearer composed of equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay sourced from 30+ crus across the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for a minimum of 4 years on the lees—longer than most NV Champagnes—the wine gains both aromatic nuance and textural finesse. A moderate dosage of ~8 g/L balances the vibrant structure. In Methuselah (6.0L), the slow aging curve imparts additional integration and complexity, enhancing both freshness and depth. A versatile match for everything from oysters and gougères to roast poultry and white truffle pasta.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Founded in 1849, Pol Roger remains one of the few grandes marques still family-owned and fiercely independent. Based in Épernay, the house is celebrated for its impeccably balanced style—refined, structured, and consistently age-worthy. Pol Roger is particularly known for its deep cellars, among the coldest in Champagne, which encourage slow maturation and preserve vibrancy. Winston Churchill famously favored the house, inspiring the prestige cuvée that bears his name. Today, Pol Roger continues to craft Champagne rooted in tradition, integrity, and quiet excellence, producing wines that speak to both immediacy and longevity.
