Pamplie "Le beurre des Chefs" Beurre Poitou-Charente, France

Pamplie "Le beurre des Chefs" (the chef's butter) is a Protected Designation of Origins (PDO) product, namely AOP Beurre Poitou-Charentes. This artisanal butter is traditionally barrel churned, giving it a delicate taste and soft texture.

Pamplie started their business in 1905 and has since become famous for their dairy products – in particular, their fermented Pamplie Butter, which has been certificated by the Protected Designation of Origin Charentes-Poitou. The herbage that their cattle graze on is pollution-free and full of minerals, and all their production processes follow traditional methods and adhere to EU regulations. Pamplie use a special lactobacillus inoculation on their milk, which is slowly fermented in 7-18℃ temperatures after 48 hours. The final product is a silky butter, full of aroma, al dente, and without any additives.

Founded in 1905 by a handful of producers , the Pamplie Cooperative Dairy is located in the small village of Pamplie,  in the Deux-Sèvres department, in the Gâtine region, renowned for its dairy production. The dairy's history and development are closely linked to those of its territory: the growth of dairy production in response to the phylloxera crisis from the late 19th century onwards, and the consolidation within the Central Association of Cooperative Dairies of Charentes and Poitou to pool resources, particularly for transporting products to Paris and other major cities.

Thanks to a manufacturing process unchanged since 1905, using a traditional barrel churn, the Pamplie Cooperative Dairy offers a range of butters with a fine and exceptional taste, in sweet, semi-salted, fleur de sel and salt crystals, for mass consumption, cheese shops, as well as a range dedicated to professionals in catering, bakery and pastry making .

Pamplie butter benefits from the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Charentes-Poitou butter.
