Join us for a very special block party along the side alley of our Westside shop, which will be closed specifically for our event. We'll be welcoming three seminal figures of "New California" winemaking - with its focus on organic/biodynamic practices and regenerative agriculture - resulting in wines of extraordinary clarity and precision.
Mikey Giugni is the Central Coast–based winemaker behind Scar of the Sea, a label that celebrates the coastal influence of San Luis Obispo County. He focuses on expressing terroir through minimal intervention—native yeast fermentations, whole-cluster use for reds, and very light extraction. The style leans toward Old-World sensibility: light on its feet with red fruit, spice, and coastal minerality. Scar of the Sea has become known for its balance between precision and a sense of place, capturing the cool maritime energy of the SLO Coast.
Gina Giugni, Mikey’s partner, produces wines under her own label Lady of the Sunshine. A second-generation biodynamic farmer, her home base is Chene Vineyard in Edna Valley, which she has converted to biodynamic and regenerative agriculture. Gina’s wines are elegant, structured, and textural, emphasizing purity and integrity over power. Each bottle reflects her belief that great wine comes from healthy soils and intentional farming. Her work at Lady of the Sunshine, alongside Mikey’s at Scar of the Sea, has made the couple leaders in the new biodynamic movement on California’s Central Coast.
Alice Anderson, founder of Âmevive (“living soul” in French), is a Santa Barbara County vigneron dedicated to regenerative farming at the historic Ibarra-Young Vineyard, planted in 1971. After studying viticulture at Cal Poly and working in New Zealand and the Rhône Valley, she brought a philosophy of biodiversity, no-till farming, and natural ecosystem integration to her project. Her wines are vivid expressions of their place, and combine structure, spice, and minerality with an earthy authenticity. As such, they are among the most compelling examples of regenerative winemaking in California today.
This strolling tasting is limited to 60 people, will be from 5-7 pm at our Westside location, and lasts about 120 minutes. We recommend arriving anytime between 5-6 to fully enjoy all our selections
Along with the wines being poured, we'll also have live music, hors d'oeuvres, games, and a complimentary Perrine's to-go cup for your wine.
15 wines + light charcuterie and cheese
